Oh, Toddlers.
You can’t live with them and you can’t live without them. It’s their way or no way. am I right? I find comfort in knowing that as a #Playtexmom, I can rely on companies like PlaytexBaby™ to be empathic to the never-ending struggle of motherhood.
Over the past year, I’ve seen Abel transition from a baby who couldn’t form a complete sentence to this self-sufficient toddler who refuses help.
With all that being said, he’s a toddler that still requires a bottle in the morning, before his nap, and another at bedtime. Paired with his soft blue blanket, I just know that he will “feel better” instantly.
Toddler’s Poppin’ Bottles
Abel never used a pacifier or sucked his thumb. But, the one thing that he is having trouble letting go of are his daily bottles of milk. Which is funny because he weaned himself off breastfeeding.
Did you know that many toddlers use their bottles of means of comfort and security? I definitely feel like Abel is one of those toddlers. Especially after Isaiah was born. He’s holding on to the last thing that really connects him to being the youngest.
Why Playtex Baby is Our Go-To
I’ve used PlaytexBaby™ bottles for both Jay and Abel. I specifically love the PlaytexBaby™ Nurser with Drop-ins® Liners. Mainly because the Drop-ins® Liners are disposable or recyclable, and provide a fresh, clean bottle anytime, making it easier for this busy mama. Available for purchase at PlaytaxBaby, Walmart, and Amazon.
It takes me less than 30 seconds to get him a bottle. Nowadays though, I have them premade so he can grab one right out of the fridge!
Other Benefits of the PlaytexBaby™ Nursers
- Closer to natural breastfeeding- clinically proven. The pre-sterilized liner gently collapses like Mom’s breast as baby feeds. Baby sucks and swallows in a coordinated rhythm that mimics natural breastfeeding, so baby breathes more naturally during feeding!
- Unique anti-colic liner gently collapses as baby feeds, preventing air bubbles from mixing with milk and getting into baby’s tummy. Fewer bubbles mean less gas, colic, and discomfort.
There’s no sense of urgency from me to take away the bottle from Abel. To me, it’s not worth the grief. In time, he will give it up. He’s still adjusting to being a big brother and if that means letting him hold onto his bottle for another few months. Then so be it.
Until then, we will continue to use the PlaytexBaby™ Nurser with Drop-ins® Liners.
Do what’s best for your situation.

Our transition was flawless, we took it slow and steady and expected hiccups. It was beautiful!
My 2.5 year old has alost chewed threw all the bottle nipples. That’s going to be our cue to stop 🙂
Playtex soon became our go to for bottles. We just recently ended our bottle journey 🙁
You’re right, in time he’ll give it up. Definitely sounds like a comfort thing so why the heck not?!
