Makeup can be an art. When applied correctly it can enhance your features and give you a sense of confidence. It can be a lot of fun creating new looks. One day you may wear a wonderful vibrant red lipstick, the next you may rock the nude lip and natural look. Makeup can enhance your outfit. This can be anything from workwear through to an evening dress at a cocktail party. You tailor what you wear to make you feel good. So I thought I would share with you five ways you can create the perfect makeup look.
Create a good base
A good solid base is a canvas to your makeup. So you need a foundation that works well with your skin type and is a good colour match. Going to beauty counters will be able to help you get matched up right, and they will be best placed to advise you on different types of foundations. You need something that will make your skin appear flawless and even out your skin tone. You may also want to consider a concealer to help cover up those dark circles round your eyes or any unexpected breakouts of spots.
Highlight and enhance
Investing in a good highlighter is one way to enhance the features of your face. A highlighter can be applied to the apples of your cheeks as well as the inner eyelids near your nose. Some people even add some to the brow line. The highlighter will create a dewy glow to your skin. You may also want to think about contouring to enhance your cheekbones. This is a trend that has come into it’s own recently. If you are in doubt on how to do there are plenty of tutorials online that will be able to offer you some tips and advice.
Don’t be afraid to experiment with colour
Adding some colour to your eyelids or lips is a great way to change your look from time to time. You may always wear a nude shade lipstick but then change one day to a bright pink will make you look completely different. Many makeup manufacturers have lots of colour choices to choose from. You just need have some courage to try different things.
Find what works and stick with it
When it comes to makeup once you find a product that works for you make sure you stick with it. This means if you have finally found a mascara that doesn’t clump or stick your lashes together then hold on to it. The same goes for foundations and lipsticks. Everyone is different, and some makeup will work better with others. Just stick with what you know for your staple things.
Experiment and replicate different styles
Finally, don’t be afraid to try new looks. If you have spotted a look that has worked on a celebrity then why not try it yourself? You may find that it works well for you and suits your skin tone. We can sometimes get stuck in a routine without makeup and always keep things the same, but it’s nice to try new things and looks. So experiment.
I hope this helps you create the perfect makeup look!
