Just a few months ago, while I was still pregnant and working we ran out of time for breakfast at home. I would drop Jayden off every morning at school and be worry-free, as he would enjoy his breakfast there. Even now, I aim to get him there before 9 am so he can eat breakfast, thanks to the Breakfast Club of Canada.
He would get to school and enjoy his waffles or bagel with a big glass of milk. They just love their milk (Dairyland is probably the most bought item in our household of boys)!
I consider that a breakfast win for him don’t you think?
Many years ago, while my family was still adjusting to this western country, we struggled to keep food on the table. For my mom, sending her kids to school every day was a new concept.
She was born and raised in a country where going to school was considered a luxury and not a “necessity”. As an immigrant, my mom didn’t speak a word of English. Which meant she was unable to secure any sort of work. At the time, we were a family of six. So you can imagine how costly it was to feed all of us.
Fortunately, there was and still are organizations like the Breakfast Club of Canada to help families like mine.
Help Dairyland give back
Dairyland is proud to be partnering with Breakfast Club of Canada to give back to kids across Western Canada for their 100th anniversary.
Until November 6th, purchase any Dairyland limited edition 1L or 2L anniversary milk carton {see pictures for reference} and they’ll provide up to 12,000 breakfasts to kids through the Breakfast Club of Canada. How amazing is that?
For 20 years, Breakfast Club of Canada has been nourishing children’s potential by making sure as many kids as possible have access to a healthy morning meal.
I’m not ashamed to say that I was one of those kids.
Join the conversation and help Dairyland give back by purchasing either a 1L or 2L carton of milk. We definitely will be 🙂
