Some would like to say that exactly where you get married doesn’t really matter. After all, you’re getting married! Who cares about the venue? Isn’t the face that you’re getting married the only part that should concern anyone?

This mindset makes perfect sense in many ways. But let’s face it: people care about the wedding venue! And why shouldn’t they? The venue is a big part of what will color your memories of this day. The more memorable the setting, the more impact the day as a whole has for you and your guests.

I’d like to take this opportunity to talk about getting married outdoors. People usually automatically think of indoor venues. Don’t limit your venue potential by only imagining yourself getting married surrounded by walls! Here’s why you should consider an outdoors venue.

Because tradition isn’t cool

What we see as a traditional venue for a wedding is the inside of a church. But with more and more people leaning towards the secular, a church isn’t exactly a comfortable venue for everyone. (Not that they were every particularly comfortable – those seats always hurt!)

Getting married outdoors let’s you buck the trends of indoor weddings. It’ll also make sure you can enjoy the weather while you recite your vows.

Because the venue will probably be amazing

Unless the company you’ve chosen puts you in a dank alleyway, chances are you’re going somewhere beautiful. There are loads of outside wedding venues across the country, so you’re bound to find something you love.

Want to get married next to a historic monument? You can do it. What about getting married in a large field of colorful flowers? It can be arranged.

Because you can save money

Many indoor venues charge extortionate prices. Now, that’s not to say that all of them do. But to provide you with a gorgeous indoor venue, the company has to build a gorgeous indoor venue. And to make up for those costs, they need to charge high prices.

If you want a breathtaking venue for your wedding, then outdoors might be where to go. After all, nature provides its beauty for free. Overhead costs for those providing these services tend to be lower. Hopefully, they’ll be passing the savings onto you!

Because you need to get outside more anyway

It’s 2016, so the chance are you spend a lot of time indoors. Your job has you working at a desk for at least eight hours a day. When you’re travelling home, you’re probably doing so on some stuffy, overcrowded commute. When you get home, you just want to relax. Sit around. Maybe see what’s on Netflix. Why not force yourself to get some fresh air by making sure this special day takes place outside?

At the end of the day, the venue you choose should be special to both you and your partner. Whether it’s outdoors or indoors, chances are you’re going to have an amazing day. Just don’t limit yourselves by only looking at one type of venue!
