Fall is here, and what does that mean? It means that we’re waving goodbye to long summer nights and saying hello to changing leaves, crispy weather and layers. With Fall comes outings and we’ve already crossed a few off our lists, like our yearly visit to the pumpkin patch.

The best kind of pumpkin patches are the ones that have tons of activities for the kids. For example, farm animals, corn mazes, sunflowers, tractor rides and duh, great pumpkins.

Things to consider

When you’re headed to the pumpkin patch for those, oh so adorable photos, remember that our kids always seem to have a different game plan then  we do. So when they’re wailing, getting dirty or running the other way, just go with it. The best kind of photos are the ones that actually show off kids being kids.

Whenever, Abel or Jay are “over it”, I try to make the best of the situation. Seriously, have you seen our family photos?

7 Tips to Get the Most Out of Your Pumpkin Patch Visit

  • Bring Props (wagons, mats, etc.)
  • Snacks
  • Sing songs
  • Bring family or friends
  • Change of clothes (just in case)
  • Change of shoes (gumboots to regular shoes – for your car)
  • Don’t stress!

As a person who takes photos on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. I’ve come to learn that letting control of perfection is a must! Nobody’s perfect so just have fun.

  1. The wagon is a non-negotiable must have at a pumpkin patch. Thank goodness… made the perfect bed for Baby Isaiah as well. What a fun day we had <3

These photos are beautiful! It’s hard to let go of the need for perfection but the way these turned out ? definitely going to have let things be more often
